Fundamental Learning Center (FLC) is 501(c)3, educational not-for-profit serving children with significant reading, writing and spelling difficulties, including dyslexia. Executive Director and founder, Jeanine Phillips, started FLC in 2001 after receiving educational training in Texas and used the training to teach her son with dyslexia how to read. Knowing the need in Kansas for a curriculum to teach children with dyslexia, Jeanine wanted to deliver her training to teachers and parents to better teach children that struggle with reading and have dyslexia. Senior Director of Operations, Holly Landon, volunteered for Fundamental Learning Center years before she came on board in 2016 to oversee operations for our growing organization. Today, FLC offers resources for dyslexia, such as screenings, teacher and parent education courses and information lectures, and an all day literally intervention school, Rolph Literacy Academy.
